Counselling can help individuals experiencing a range of challenges, including stress, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, relationship conflicts, physical and sexual abuse, self-esteem concerns, anger management, parenting/co-parenting concerns, and separation and divorce.

Counselling, sometimes referred to as therapy or psychotherapy, is a collaborative process aimed at helping break the patterns that prevent individuals from making healthy decisions and living the life they want.

The process is tailored to the issues you face and the results you wish to achieve. Together with your Counsellor, you will establish goals for your sessions and determine the steps you can take to make necessary changes. Your Counsellor will be someone who listens attentively, gives you appropriate feedback, supports you and, above all, empowers you to change your tomorrow.

*Counselling services are often covered by private insurance companies, or through extended health care benefits and health care spending accounts. Please check with your insurance or benefit provider to determine eligibility. Some of our practitioners are under the supervision by a Registered Psychologist - please inquire for further details.

Occupational therapy is the perfect marriage of mental and physical care for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, stress and stress-induced illness, PTSD, pain management, and those undergoing major life transitions such as retirement, change in career, change in lifestyle (ie. starting university or moving to a new city), and parenthood. OT is a wellness focused solution for people of all ages and abilities. Occupational Therapy is especially beneficial for individuals who are or have recently undergone a change in their physical abilities, such as with an injury or illness, or a change in their mental capacities such as with concussions, illnesses or emotionally stressful situations.

Occupational therapy sessions are primarily a talk focused treatment that works to address both mental and physical health. Your Occupational Therapist (OT) will work with you to take a holistic view of your life and determine what changes are needed so that you can do and excel at activities you love. From work related tasks to household errands to hobbies you just enjoy doing - an OT will help devise a plan to get you back to what you love doing and be there to guide you every step of the way.

What makes an OT different from other therapies is that there is a strong understanding of how the physical body works in different physical environments. OT's will give you concrete and tangible modifications you can do in your surrounding environment to make activities more adaptable to your needs. In addition, OT's are highly skilled in using emotional and mental strategies to help address your cognitive wellness. This is a key aspect of Occupational Therapy as your physical health often impacts your mental and emotional wellness.

*Our OT is available for offsite ergonomic assessments, home safety assessments, equipment recommendations as well as other assessments deemed necessary by medical and insurance professionals. We are happy to work with long-term disability insurance however, we do not work with MVA insurance at this time.

Osteopathy is all about getting rid of the “strings” in your body. We look to balance restrictions and asymmetries so that every tissue, everywhere, has exactly what it needs to the healthiest it can be. Classical Osteopathy is a wonderful option for people of all ages and abilities. Treatments consist of manual adjustments that are localized and specific and focused on relieving pressures and restrictions.

The practice is based on an extensive understanding of anatomy and physiology and is anchored by four fundamental principles:
1. The body is a complete unit (mind, body, spirit)
2. The body is self-healing and self-regulating
3. The structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) are interrelated on all levels
4. Rational treatment is based on these principles
How does osteopathy work? Imagine tying a string around your finger. After only a short while, the string begins to affect nerve supply, blood supply and general circulation. If you left that string on for a long period of time, your finger would stop receiving the vital circulation it needs to thrive and the tissue would eventually break down and die.

Initial assessments include a health history intake and a physical assessment, followed by treatment, and are usually about 50 minutes in length. Subsequent treatments are approximately 25 minutes in length. You are not required to undress for Osteopathic sessions, though it is recommended you wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing, such as yoga pants/shorts and a tank top/t-shirt/sports bra.

Osteopathy (Classical- Student)

A Rehabilitative Manual Therapist is an upper year Osteopathic Student still pursuing their education. Reiki is an ancient Japanese practice that while subtle and gentle in nature, can offer deep and profound healing. Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy. In this form of energy work the practitioner will either hover their hands over or lay them upon the client, acting as a conduit, flowing energy that offers calming, balancing and stress-reducing effects that trigger the persons natural capacity to heal. Similar to an acupuncturist using needles to facilitate the free flowing of energy throughout the body, Reiki assists in moving energetic blockages and increasing the energetic vibration of the client.

Healing can be experienced on a cellular and energetic level, within all components of ones being, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Reiki is not affiliated with any religion or religious practice, nor does one need to be spiritual to benefit from it, however for some it can be a very spiritual experience.

The client will remain fully clothed during their treatment.
