SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS (including for new patients) for most of our services. If your regular practitioner is not available during this busy time, our collaborative team trains and meets regularly together to ensure you receive excellent, continuous care, regardless of who you see - so if you are in need trust we have your back (literally) 😀!
NEW PATIENT INFORMATION
In addition to English 🇬🇧, Clarisse, Geneviève, Robin, Emma and Carolyn all speak French 🇫🇷 and Emma also speaks Spanish 🇪🇸
Please note that Genevieve is no longer accepting new patients due to a lack of timely follow up availability required for best treatment outcomes however our collaborative style of work will ensure you receive exceptional care from any of our team members.
📆 If you are booking an Initial Appointment with any of our practitioners and you have limited availability we suggest booking at least 2-3 follow up appointments 1-2 weeks apart from your initial appointment. Typically, in order to have complete resolution of an issue it will often require more than one visit. These will be adjusted by your practitioner based on their assessment of your case and the treatment plan they recommend at the time of your initial treatment however it is always easier to move/change/cancel a pre-booked appointment than risk your available times no longer being available as certain time slots do tend to book up well in advance.
Cancellation Policy
Please note that we do have a 24 hour cancellation policy. You may cancel online, by phone (613)766-3503, or by email info@fchn.ca . Any appointment that is not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance will be subject to a cancellation fee.

Acupuncture
- Acupuncture effects every major system of the body, including the circulatory, genitourinary, endocrine, immune systems, cerebral, cardiac and gastrointestinal.
- Acupuncture promotes blood flow. Blood contains oxygen, nutrients, immune substances, hormones, analgesics, and anti-inflammatories.
- Acupuncture reduces stress. Acupuncture stimulates the release of oxytocin, which regulates the parasympathetic nervous system to promote restoration and healing.
- Acupuncture stimulates the body’s built-in healing mechanisms. Acupuncture stimulates the body’s ability to spontaneously heal injuries to the tissue.
- Acupuncture releases natural painkillers. Acupuncture signals to release chemicals such as endorphins, norepinephrine and enkephalin.
- Acupuncture relaxes shortened muscles. This releases pressure on joint structures and nerves, promotes blood flow and stimulates healing.
Clinical studies have observed several physiological effects of acupuncture, including increased circulation, decreased inflammation, relief from pain, relief of muscle spasms, and increased T-cell count, which stimulates the immune system. This is why acupuncture works well for so many things from pain to inflammation, immune system regulation, to women’s health and fertility, as well as anxiety and depression.
Osteopathy (Classical)
Osteopathy is all about getting rid of the “strings” in your body. We look to balance restrictions and asymmetries so that every tissue, everywhere, has exactly what it needs to the healthiest it can be. Classical Osteopathy is a wonderful option for people of all ages and abilities. Treatments consist of manual adjustments that are localized and specific and focused on relieving pressures and restrictions.
The practice is based on an extensive understanding of anatomy and physiology and is anchored by four fundamental principles:
1. The body is a complete unit (mind, body, spirit)
2. The body is self-healing and self-regulating
3. The structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) are interrelated on all levels
4. Rational treatment is based on these principles
How does osteopathy work? Imagine tying a string around your finger. After only a short while, the string begins to affect nerve supply, blood supply and general circulation. If you left that string on for a long period of time, your finger would stop receiving the vital circulation it needs to thrive and the tissue would eventually break down and die.
Initial assessments include a health history intake and a physical assessment, followed by treatment, and are usually about 40-50 minutes in length. Subsequent treatments are approximately 25 minutes in length. You are not required to undress for Osteopathic sessions, though it is recommended you wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing, such as yoga pants/shorts and a tank top/t-shirt/sports bra.
